Position Overview
The Laser Technician is responsible for performing high-quality, safe, and effective laser and light-based treatments for skin rejuvenation, hair removal, pigmentation, acne, and other aesthetic concerns. This role requires technical expertise, patient care sensitivity, and strict adherence to clinical protocols. The ideal candidate should embody professionalism, ensure patient satisfaction, and uphold the luxury service standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Procedures
- Perform FDA-approved laser hair removal, pigmentation removal, acne treatments, vascular lesion removal, and skin rejuvenation procedures using Q-Switch, Alexandrite, Diode, Fractional, and other advanced technologies.
- Adjust laser parameters based on patient skin type (Fitzpatrick scale), treatment area, and concern.
- Accurately document treatment parameters and progress in EMR or patient files.
- Assist doctors with combination therapy procedures involving PRP, RF microneedling, or injectables when required.
2. Patient Safety & Experience
- Conduct pre-treatment assessments and patch tests.
- Explain procedures, pre/post care instructions, and treatment expectations to patients clearly.
- Ensure all safety measures (goggles, skin cooling, sanitation) are strictly followed.
- Handle patient concerns or mild reactions and escalate adverse events immediately to the attending doctor.
3. Equipment & Inventory Management
- Ensure daily calibration and hygiene of laser machines before and after procedures.
- Report any machine malfunction or maintenance need to the Operations Manager.
- Maintain inventory of laser consumables, tips, and protective gear.
- Track usage of disposable materials and record them as per clinic policy.
4. Compliance & Documentation
- Operate in full compliance with MOH regulations, clinic SOPs, and infection control protocols.
- Maintain treatment records, before-after images, and signed consent forms.
- Participate in internal audits and clinical reviews when required.
5. Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with dermatologists, receptionists, and patient counselors to ensure seamless treatment flow.
- Assist in consultation planning and recommend packages to support patient results.
- Communicate with the front desk about appointment delays, changes, or follow-up scheduling.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MOH/DHA/DOH licensed Laser Technician (or eligible for licensing in UAE).
- Certificate in Laser Safety & Aesthetic Laser Training from an accredited body.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a dermatology or aesthetic clinic.
- Skilled in operating multiple laser platforms (e.g., Cynosure, Fotona, Candela, DEKA, Primelase, etc.).
- Strong understanding of skin types, treatment indications, and contraindications.
- Good spoken English; Arabic or other language skills are a plus.
- Well-groomed, professional appearance and patient-friendly demeanor.
